Swimmer Discipline

To gain from your individual training sessions is, to a great extent, reliant on the swimmers personal discipline, application and attitude to training.

A key factor before even entering the pool is to be organised. Do you have all YOUR kit , drinks bottle, fins, pull bouy..etc. Remember these are the basics you need to complete a successful training session and it is up to you to remember to bring them. How many times do you blame your parents for not putting them in YOUR bag!!!!

Attend the recommended amount of sessions advised by the Teaching and Coaching Staff.
A positive frame of mind will help you train at the level that is required.
Technique is the most important. Think about it all the time.
Listen to your Coach. They are there to advise and help you become a better swimmer.
Learn to use the pace clock and take your pulse.
Drink plenty of fluids during training to avoid dehydration.
Train at the intesity that is required by the Coach. Do less, and you are cheating on yourself.
Execute all turns correctly, finish each length properly.
Pace yourself in warm ups. Its not a race!
Training session provide a chance for improvement. Leave the pool after a session feeling positive that you have acheived something.
YOUR log book and YOUR whiteboard!! where are they??
Perfect practise makes Perfect
